The UCSC Silicon Valley Initiatives comprise a set of educational and research activities that together increase the presence of UC in the Silicon Valley.  UCSC brings its world renowned and cutting edge research to the area via the Silicon Valley Center, currently located at the NASA Ames Research Park.

The Silicon Valley Initiatives include:

  • Academic programs (current and future);
  • The Advanced Studies Laboratories (ASL);
  • The Bio-Info-Nano Research and Development Institute (BIN-RDI);
  • The Collaborative for Higher Education; and
  • The University Affiliated Research Center (UARC).

UCSC Summer Courses at SVC
Several UCSC courses are planned for the Silicon Valley Center during Summer 2007:

  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Algorithms & Abstract Data Types
  • Applied Discrete Mathematics
  • Intermediate Microeconomics
  • Intermediate Macroeconomics
  • Linguistics for Engineers
  • Science, Policy, and the Environment

  • These courses will delivered as part of UCSC's regular summer session program, carry UCSC credit, and may be transferable to UC campuses and other four-year colleges and universities.
